Taree looks once more around the room... she is getting more used to entertaining but she is always afraid she might forget something important.

The food is in the kitchen area ready to be brought out when the time is right. Hot water sits in a teapot on the table ready to be set to steeping. Cushions have been arranged. A jar of honey sits near the tea pot... she would have debated putting it at Seigi's spot if they were setting assigned seats.

She turns to Seiren, her ever trustworthy source on such matters. "Have I missed anything?"

Seiren merely watches from the doorway of her room, seated and out of Taree's way as she bustles about and organises everything for tonight.

"You are improving" Seiren says with a genuine smile "You have not forgotten anything this time".

She gives her friend a look "Maybe just because where I come from food, hot water and tea are enough for some people" she rolls her eyes... by the same token it has been pretty obvious that she wants to make a good impression for her Sensei.

Seiren's grin widens a little at the look. Unable to resist poking her nervous friend.

"But if you wish it Taree-sama you could perfect these new skills you are learning and become a master at your new craft. Such knowledge and practice would most certainly fill in your leisurely days".

Taree sighs ... "my days are looking to be less leisurely if we have more nights like the last."

She seriously seems to be pondering though

"Knowing a proper tea ceremony might be a useful skill at some point... though Crane Etiquette School would definitely be over the top if that's what you were thinking."

Seiren's grins widens a little more.

"The Tea Ceremony is perhaps the easiest to learn and master....it is all the other things that most samurai tend to forget".

Taree stares into the void for a moment... "considering some of what I have seen... or not seen..." With a shugenja or even a little bit of training perhaps some might have lived who instead died "perhaps I'd still have all of my sight"

Coming back to the present she says "It is the least I can do... but unfortunately is it a bit more messy than working the kami..."

Seiren watches her friend with a concerned expression, not wanting to have to deal with a brooding Taree during her stay here Seiren tries to shift the conversation focus.

Seigi is bad enough....

Seiren grins.

"Now that you have complete the basics for dinner tonight Taree, have you given any thought to your decorations and environment?"

"Seiren-san, he's a Dragon..." she gestures around her "this is consideration to the decorations and environment - if I wanted to make it 'homey' I'd get rid off the cushions."

Seiren purses her lips and raises an eyebrow slightly. A small, vexed sigh escapes the ronin.

"You cannot get rid of the cushions Taree-sama, I have a fragile bottom and it will become brusied....that would be most unacceptable".

Another small sigh reaches Taree's ears and some quiet muttering.

"And Dragon are supposed to be enlightened....bah!!"

Seiren drops the uppity act with a grin and looks around the room.

"This is quite good for the company present. But some samurai can make such occasions a real art form and it is merely doing small and subtle things that will make the difference".

Seiren's gaze wanders around the room and studies Taree as well.

"Even down to what you chose to wear. Everything can be used to convey a small message".

Seiren shakes her head suddenly, laughing.

"I am sorry Taree-sama, being around all these courtiers again has awoken my old habits".

"No, they were not. But to be honest I was not quite sure what to expect when I accepted his offer. I had seemed to spend my first few days here being Seigi-san diligent servant and making sure he has his honey for tea".

Her gaze wonders to the honey pot on the table with a small smile.

There is a single rap on the door frame to indicate the arrival of Taree's guest. Kazama stands outside, dressed in his finest kimono, the cold air making his breath quite visible as small clouds of mist.
