Michio simply nodded at first. His smile didn't slip but he didn't seem in the least bit surprised. As he spoke, his tone reflected that same reality, "I had expected as much, though it is rude for me to ask her. She is an intelligent, graceful and skilled warrior of her family, and the first daughter of her family. It would have surprised me had she not."

Nichirin nodded. "She had two. Both of them died with honour on the battlefield. probably why she doesn't talk much about them."

"One does not speak of the dead overmuch," Michio said with a small nod. "The honor of their deeds, and even the glory of their passing in battle, but not generally the person as much. This does explain a few things, and I thank you for it. However, there is no suitor currently is there?"

If he seemed phased by the idea that she had had multiple suitors at different times, or that they were dead, he showed no sign.

Michio seemed a bit relieved and nodded. "Good. I would not wish to attempt such things, if I were to step in the way of the negotations her family was participating in, Ide-sama. Thank you, as this helps to clear my mind a little," he said with a small nod.

"Beyond this, once I have received word from my grandmother as to her thoughts on a potential Nakodo, I believe that much of the matter is justly out of my hands," Michio went on with a small smile, sipping from his own cup with hands that seemed surer now that they were warm again, even if a touch tired. "I will speak with you, however, when the time comes that those who wish to speak for or against such a possible match comes. I have little doubt it will not be too terribly long."

Michio nodded, even a touch absent-mindedly. "So. Ide-sama, what do you think of the court, as you have been present here for two weeks?" he asked, giving the man a slightly curious look as he shifted the subject, its contents having been largely covered now.

Nichririn thought about it for a while.

"Hard to say. Toturi-dono's absence has disturbed the proper running of things, and it is then hard to say who is favored or not whn the Lord of the Court isn't there."

"It all depends upon who he has been seen the most with in the last several weeks," Michio said with a nod. "Who he has spent considerable time with says a great deal about his intentions and feelings, yes?"
